JULY 17, 2024- United Way of Greater Nashville announced today that, thanks to generous community donations to its 16th annual Stuff the Bus school supply collection drive, over 15,000 elementary students will receive backpacks full of school supplies to start the year off ready to learn.

More than 469 individuals representing 63 teams purchased enough supplies to distribute to 15,000 students in need in Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Hickman, Houston, Montgomery, Robertson, Stewart and Williamson counties. Donors and volunteers gathered at Nissan Stadium on July 15th and 16th to drop off supplies, assemble backpacks and to celebrate the success of Stuff the Bus.

Since the inception of Stuff the Bus, over 122,000 students have received the school supplies they need to start the school year off right.

In addition, 3,000 middle and high school students will receive supplies provided by Amazon.

“Stuff the Bus has never been about just filling backpacks,” said Brian Hassett, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Nashville. “It’s about giving kids in our community the tools they need to learn, create and grow. As the cost of basic school supplies increases, it is more important than ever to help our neighbors in need.”

“United Way of Greater Nashville serves a pivotal role in supporting families and children in our community,” said Josh Corey, Titans director of youth and community engagement. “We look forward to Stuff the Bus each year. The Titans are always looking for ways to support organizations who give local kids all the tools needed for a successful school year.”

We also want to thank our other generous sponsors:
