Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) today announced its Nashville teammates and partners from across the country raised more than $2.44 million in 2023 for the United Way of Greater Nashville to support the organization’s network of local organizations providing essential services and programs across Middle Tennessee. This year’s donation is yet another record for the company in support of a nearly 30-year partnership with United Way that has raised more than $12.8 million for the organization since 2015.
Nashville-based Bridgestone teammates demonstrated their generosity this year through a giving campaign that raised more than $1 million for United Way. The company also raised nearly $1.4 million through its sixth annual Bridgestone United Way Charitable Golf Tournament held on October 17 at Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville. Thanks to Bridgestone’s teammates and partners, the tournament is the largest fundraising golf tournament in the country for United Way and has generated more than $5.7 million in the six years it has been played.
“Bridgestone is committed to supporting the communities where we live, move, work and play,” said Sara Correa, chief marketing officer, Bridgestone Americas. “Our teammates and partners continue to bring our Bridgestone E8 Commitment to life by giving back to those in need across Middle Tennessee. Through their generosity we are demonstrating that we are united by what really matters—creating a more sustainable world for future generations.”
“United Way of Greater Nashville is so grateful for all of the support we receive from Bridgestone,” said Brian Hassett, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Nashville. “In addition to the most successful golf tournament in the country, the employees contributed over one million dollars. They are our number one contributor, giving close to 2.5 million dollars and for that we are extremely grateful.”
The partnership between Bridgestone and United Way aligns with the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, consisting of eight Bridgestone-like values starting with the letter “E” that Bridgestone has committed to creating together with employees, society, partners and customers to realize a sustainable society. It specifically aligns with “Empowerment” and “Emotion.”
