Meet Adam Wilczek: Conservative, Dedicated, and Detail Oriented
Adam, a New Jersey native, relocated to Brentwood in 1996. At that time, he joined PICA, a United Way corporate partner, serving as COO and a leading international expert on preventing patient injury. Through PICA, Adam connected with United Way, which provided him the opportunity to not only support our mission through PICA’s annual giving campaign, but also serve on the United Way Board of Directors. As a member of our Tocqueville Society for more than fifteen years, Adam has made an invaluable commitment to building a bright future for every person in our community.
Things took an interesting turn when Adam transitioned from an avid supporter to a staff member! For the past four years, he has helped build United Way’s endowment and planned giving program step by step. Adam enjoys “working with great people,” especially our donors and prospective supporters.
One aspect of his legacy giving work is shaped by FreeWill, a free, easy-to-use online tool that allows anyone in our community to create a legal will. FreeWill helps people plan for their future while supporting the people and causes they care about.
As a former eleven-year board member, active donor and current employee, Adam has been in a unique position to witness the various ways our programs, initiatives, campaigns and partners help individuals and families throughout the region. In his roles, Adam has become much more familiar with the needs of our community. And if he had the power to instantly reshape our community, “I would make sure all children had a place to live and all of the necessities of life,” he says.
Adam has traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe as a featured speaker, served on risk management committees for several national medical associations and he’s even met two U.S. presidents. Through all his adventure and success, Adam says, “I am most proud of the world’s most wonderful wife and a great family: two sons and one daughter-in-law.”
