Hands On, powered by United Way of Greater Nashville, is currently recruiting local college-aged students to serve as AmeriCorps members during the 2024-2025 school year. As AmeriCorps members, students will help engage volunteers and new supporters for a local nonprofit, while adding marketable skills to their resume.
The 11-month service term starts on September 20, 2024. During the term, members will serve 15 or 20 hours per week, receive a semi-monthly living allowance, and earn an education award after completion of the required number of service hours.
Applicants can visit hon.org/americorps to get started.
“The most rewarding part of my service year was being able to do something where my time felt like it was put towards something valuable. I feel like I have gained a deeper understanding of being part of an organization and having a mission. It can be incredibly rewarding to put effort toward that mission and see the progress of your work,” said 2023 AmeriCorps member Colton Treadway.
