United Way of Greater Nashville and each school district request all volunteers adhere to our privacy policy. All volunteers must agree their participation as a volunteer for Raise Your Hand is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background check. As a volunteer, I will notify United Way of any criminal convictions or charges that are pending against me or which arise during the course of my volunteer activities. I understand and accept my role as a volunteer, as the responsibility of protecting every child’s privacy and confidentiality. Any knowledge of student grades or event that occurs while I am on school property or virtual meetings remains confidential. I will not discuss these events except with the appropriate advisors or faculty member. Any fraudulent application, violation of confidentiality or any violation of the above provisions may result in termination of my status as a volunteer. Raise Your Hand volunteers are not allowed to recruit Raise Your Hand students for any personal or business interests or potential organizational gain, which would be a conflict of interest.

I hereby agree to waive all rights to pursue any claims, lawsuits or legal actions of any type against United Way of Greater Nashville and/or their officers, employees, agents, board members, volunteers, event sponsors and all other persons working with respect to United Way activities. I expressly release and discharge said parties from any and all responsibility and liability for injuries, harm, losses or damages of any type to my person or property that I may sustain while participating as a volunteer, even if such injuries harm, losses or damages are caused, in whole or in part, by its employees, officers, board members, volunteers, event sponsors and all other persons working with United Way of Greater Nashville. Raise Your Hand sessions and meetings will be photographed and filmed. By attending, you authorize and grant United Way of Greater Nashville and it's representing agents, designees and assignees (collectively "UWGN") the irrevocable right and permission to photograph, film, videotape, record, incorporate, use, broadcast, distribute, re-use, copyright, publish, re-publish, alter, and/or edit, and/or portray my name, voice, portrayal, actions and likeness for any purpose throughout the universe and in perpetuity, as well as for promotion, merchandising, publicity and advertising.
